✖ Change
✖ European houses. What is the need for such a large house?
✖ European food. The taste is just.. terrible.
✖ When he was still in school, he wasn't particularly fond of Science class.
» Personality:
A cheerful person, Yao likes to think of himself as the big brother type, a person that sets a good example for the next generation. However, he's not exactly great with kids(specifically teenagers). He's annoyed very easily, and really can't put up with most kids.
Actually, he can't put up with most people. The Chinese man is very picky and will snap at people for little things, including the way they cook their food and passing glances. He still has a lot of old fashioned beliefs and often despairs about how much the world has changed.
Though he's not entirely against the modern world. He's not the greatest with the new technology, but he does appreciate it. He also likes the new cute characters that Jap-- China has been creating... Especially Shinatty-chan. So cute!
Not that he really likes talking about his obsession with Shinatty-chan. Yao is a bit antisocial and generally won't talk unless spoken to, or if he's comfortable enough around someone. He doesn't like it when he finds himself in a big crowd, and will usually retreat to the side of someone he knows in such situations.
Easily flustered and somewhat shy, Yao still isn't one to take lightly. He's a hardworking person, and isn't afraid to hit you with a wok if you're really annoying him. He knows how to handle himself, and he knows how to do so very well. He realizes he's not the ideal person, but he hopes he can at least set a good example for the next generation.
..Please, try to take him seriously.
» History:
Yao was raised to be his family's ideal son. He put an amazing amount of effort into his work(even if his mom did do some of his homework) and flew by the other kids in school. He was raised not to look anyone directly in the eye, just as a child should, and not to speak up against his elders.
He was definitely the ideal son, and his grades helped his parents get past the fact he sat in his room completely stoned more than half the time. It seemed to be some sort of unspoken deal between him and his parents. If he succeeded in school, they wouldn't rat him out on his addiction. It was a good deal. He could live with that.
This addiction faded in his mid-twenty's, where he juggled his teaching job and a small business. Yao's small business became very successful in a short amount of time, and his family started eating up the wealth. Yao quit his teaching job and ran his business full time.
However, when Yao's business started failing a few years later, he turned back to his addiction. His parents, no longer receiving any money from him, began to shun him. Practically out of work now, he hunted down a teaching job in the states.
Almost a year later, he found himself teaching Cultural Studies at Bluterra Academy.. and while it's not his most ideal situation, he can't see himself returning to China any time soon.

Sample Post:
Yao squinted, tightening his grip on his paint brush. He moved the brush up a bit, though to the untrained eye it would have appeared he hadn't moved the brush at all. Careful, he reminded himself.
"If you move too quickly you'll mess it up, aru," He mumbled, turning his brush to the left. He was almost out of orange paint. Hmm. He should have enough left for this last section.
Leaning forward, Yao moved his brush upwards. He was so close... This painting would turn out great! The Chinese man dabbed his brush in some more orange paint, then--
Yao's door was opened, startling the man. He lost his focus quickly, making a large stroke of orange upwards, then dropping the strand of hair he'd been painting on. The maid that had entered the room gave him a strange look and he leaned back in his chair.
"Am I interrupting something?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. He shook his head and sighed, "No, nothing at all, aru."
"I see," she mumbled, picking up some of his clothes off the floor. As soon as the maid left, Yao was on all fours searching for the hair he'd been painting on.
