♠ Gym. He disliked it as a kid, and still dislikes it.
Personality:
As a person that tends to shy away from physical contact and social gatherings, Kiku has found himself encountering new skills, people and all sorts of other things lately. Though he's generally somewhat shy (even coming off as antisocial at times), he does enjoy spending time with other people and learning new things. He strives to be friendly to most, as you never know what things others have to offer(because of this, he's on friendly terms with most people).
Kiku is a person largely divided between more traditional aspects and newer ones, and has a large variety of interests. One of which being Kiku has an unhealthy obsession with manga, doujins, etc. If you're lucky enough to be let into his room, you'll see that the floor is littered with Higurashi soundtrack CDs and various anime DVDs.
He has a small desk completely dedicated to his figurines and collector's items, the desk being so cluttered that his laptop doesn't even fit on it anymore.
His laptop can usually be found on his bed and if you browsed through it, you'd find Firefox up with several tabs(usually Pixiv and his six RP sites, occasionally Nico Nico Douga), along with a gruesome amount of doujin games, yaoi and the occasional hentai. His favourites menu is completely spammed by Hatsune Miku songs, episodes of Haruhi Suzumiya(excluding the Endless Eight) and some(most) Hello!Project concerts(though he prefers to buy the actual DVDs, as attending the concerts in person is a pain for someone of his age).
He also claims to have a blog hidden somewhere on the Internet, though it doesn't appear to be updated very often.
Of course, this is only one aspect of Kiku(but it seems to be the one that people acknowledge the most). Kiku also holds a love of traditions, both his own and others. It's not an unusual occurence to find him at a shrine or festival, when visiting his home country. He also takes his time in researching others' traditions, something he takes a certain amount of pride on.
History:
Kiku was supposed to be a businessman. A very successful businessman, one smart enough to take over his father's large company. And everyone knew he would grow up to be such a businessman. They could tell by the way he walked, the way he bowed his head in respect to his elders, the way he ate his food, his passion for his work.
He easily juggled his busy schedule of schoolwork with his social life and his hobbies, a skill that was tough for even the smartest of men. Kiku passed in extra credit, achieved the highest scores in his schools, then played baseball and played in his school band on the side. Only at the age of eleven. Such an amazing child.
He could only get better from there, right? Right? Right. In middle school Kiku continued to get the best scores in his grade. He eventually quit baseball but he assured his parents it was only because he was so busy. His parents couldn't blame him, really. It was hard being so busy. He stopped turning in extra credit the same year. His parents didn't mind. As long as he got into that private high school... He'd surely make it in.
He didn't.
Kiku was raised to be the ideal hardworking Japanese business man, someone with enough wits to take over his father's company. Someone with influence. Someone that everyone else would want to be, or be with. And he was. Just the way he was raised.
Of course, the way he was raised was to really put on a mask. A mask that everything was okay and that he could keep doing this for the rest of his life. Lying through his teeth with his "yes mother"'s and "yes father"'s. Playing the team sports that annoyed him so much. Being friends with the children of all the successful company's owners. Yes.... good child... That was him.
Kiku didn't doubt his way of living until Middle School. He started asking himself if he was really happy living the way he did. He decided that the problem was he didn't like playing baseball, so he quit. His parents would understand. They did, and assured him that it was for the sake of his grades. They didn't understand, to be honest. He had resisted pulling a face at them. It wasn't for his grades. It was for his happiness.
Kiku tried not to ponder his happiness any further after he quit baseball. Instead, he used the free time he gained to spend time with his friends. Out of all his friends, one stood out. A boy. He wasn't from a rich background, or a spectacular family at all. He wasn't entirely polite, not taking his shoes off when he entered homes and looking directly into people's eyes. Kiku liked that. It wasn't what he was used to.
It was time for his high school entrance exam. All his friends were taking the exam. They'd surely pass. All his friends except for the rebel boy. Halfway through with his test, Kiku thought for a moment or two.
He answered every question after that wrong. He didn't make it into that high school. Shortly after, his parents disowned him. His rebel friend moved away, but somehow, he'd taught him a lesson.
After being disowned by his parents, he took the time to focus on what mattered to him. Music. He got into a decent high school, nothing completely extraordinary, and years later found himself teaching in the states.

Sample Post:
Kiku wasn't exactly sure how to word what he was feeling. It was an odd sensation, a mix of guilt and... and... everything else out there. It was... so tempting. He wanted it to so bad, but it simply was not right to have it.
The Japanese man squinted and continued to stare at the swing set. Words couldn't even describe how much he wanted to swing on it. Unfortunately, it'd look ridiculous for an adult to go swinging. While he wasn't very social, he did have a reputation to uphold. That meant no swinging for him.
He let out a sigh and leaned forward on the table he was sitting at, propping his chin on his hand. It wasn't like anyone was around to see him. Actually, he'd come out here mostly because no one was around. Talking to foreigners was frustrating, even more so when said foreigners were Europeans(as a majority of the people visiting the mansion were). Always snorting at his accent when he spoke better English than them. Hmph.
A breeze blew by, messing Kiku's hair and snapping him from his thoughts. The swing creaked a little bit as it swung back and forth. It only made giving in and swinging on it that much more tempting. Kiku bit his lip and jogged his leg. There really wasn't anyone around. Why not just--
No! Someone could show up. He'd look ridiculous. But... It really was tempting...
A few minutes passed in complete silence. Kiku sighed and got up from his seat, glancing around. It didn't look like anyone would show up any time soon. A determined look crept onto his face. The Japanese man bolted towards the swing set and hopped on, kicking his legs as hard as he could.
