Personality:
Basch has a fairly young appearance, although he is twenty already. He seems a peaceful guy with his neutrality policy 'I'm not choosing a side, don't drag me into something that has nothing to do with me'. On the other hand, he thinks it's very important not to agree with someone so fast. People have to form an opinion themselves, not adopt an opinion from others. He also doesn't hesistate to tell them that. He's bilingual, due to the fact there are four official languages in Switzerland. He learnt to speak German and French fluently and speaks a bit Italian as well. Ofcourse, he also speaks English – otherwise, what's he doing here on this school? He prefers the German language, though.
Basch has quite a temper and can act rather harsh. He's the type that threatens, but never really means it. He'd rather do grocery shopping and cooking himself than going out to eat. In Switzerland, it's very expensive to go out for lunch or dinner and Basch is a bit of a frugal person. Not greedy, though. He'll eventually share his food or possessions if you're really in need. He hates it when he get's associated with the stereotypical Swiss yodel person in lederhosen, dancing around along with sheep, goats and cows. He has a sweet tooth; if there's anything he likes, it's chocolate. Also cheese fondues and wine is something you can make him happy with. Especially when it's free.
Basch is quite fascinated with guns and rifles. When he turned sixteen, he got a rifle from his father (his mother was not entirely happy with that, which is completely understandable.) He also tried to smuggle his pocket gun into the academy, but unfortunately he got caught. He was allowed to keep it, but certain dangerous parts had to be removed from it and was handed to the principal. The gun in fact is useless now, but it means very much to him, as it reminds him of his dad.
History:
Basch was born in a peaceful country named Switzerland. He lived in a valley around the alps and it was there where he grew up with the beautiful scenery of the Swiss alps. He was quite a peaceful boy; he had three pet goats to care about, loved to climb the mountains - and trees - and was quite fond of nature. After gotten in a fight once and with that losing a close friend - he had been forced to chose between two friends - he promised himself never to choose sides again. He'd rather stay neutral since then.
In his exam year at high school, his father almost died in an accident. Ofcourse, being in a shooting club was dangerous, especially when the rifles were actually loaded and they were making field trips. His father was accidentally shot in the shoulde and had to stay long in the hospital. It was then that Basch dediced to study abroad when he got invited, because he couldn't stand seeing his father so weak. It was not like he didn't care, but more that it was difficult for him to deal with it. Luckily his father became all healthy again. While being on the academy, he misses his parents, but his goats as well. It was a bit impossible to take the animals with him, after all.
Sample Post:
He woke up at the small sunlight shining through the window and curtains, just enough to shine him right in his face. Opening his eyes and immediately being blinded he sighed, looking at the clock. Back in Switzerland he never had problems with getting out of bed. Sometimes he missed being in the mountains, the valleys and the nice views. He rather enjoyed them and this place - sure, it was nice too, but there was nothing more beautiful than the Swiss scenery. It was also more peaceful and quiet, something he missed in the academy. Sure, the academy was nice and all and he actually enjoyed being there, but he liked his own country more after all.
He also missed the fresh air; the air here was so fuggy sometimes and when it was really hot, he got trouble with breathing once. Was it because he wasn't really used to the not so fresh air in a crowded place without any mountains, lakes and forests? Basch sighed again before he got up and dressed himself. He really didn't want to be late for classes. If he was one of the first people to arrive, he didn't have to get a seat next to someone else. It was not that he was anti-social, oh no. He just wanted to be left alone, especially in class, where they were supposed to pay attention. Honestly, sometimes he thought his classmates didn't know what they're supposed to do in class. It was certainly not texting your friends or gossiping. Basch put a little chocolate in his mouth as he dressed himself. Yes, it was better to get there soon.
